Valentine's Day

In Colombia Valentine's Day is not celebrated on February 14 but the third week of September. It was the year 1969 when by an initiative of the merchants in 1969 date was move from February to September. They argued that February was focused on the school season selling, as a result few selling of roses and chocolates took part. Thus, It was decided September would be a perfect month since there was no major celebration on.

It is a month where friends as well as couples share in a special way.

Generally, in this month, people play a game called "Secret Friend".  Individuals are to write down the names of all the players in pieces of paper which will be put into a bag then scrambled. As a second step, without seeing inside the bag, a person take out a paper and will choose a person to whom they have to give small details, it would be a candy or an object. When the day arrives (Septemeber 14th), all the papers taken are shown in order to every player will know who its secret friend is, in addition, everyone must bring the gift to the person who appears on paper.

It is a very fun and interesting game, but many times it faces some difficulties, because people have not enough money to give a good gift, or some people do not like the gift they received. It makes a very uncomfortable moment.

So I think that many times we tend to be superficial and we are attracted to the looking of others and we do not see the love that person put to give us a present. That's why I think we should look at feelings rather than material things.
