Human Evolution

The chronology of human origin and evolution is not yet precise. There are classifications, often contradictory, because there are several unknowns in the study of man.
In a general way, we can say that there is a common trunk between the great monkeys or primate antropoides and the human.

Stages of human evolution:

Hominids: Hominids are classified into two genera: the first genus is the AUSTROLOPITHECUS (from the Latin australis = southern, south + from the Greek pithecos) that presented physical characteristics even distant from the current man. The second gender is the gender HOMO, to which we belong humans. It is not known whether the present man would have evolved from the Austrolopithecus or perhaps be connected independently by a common ancestor. The earliest hominids would have lived in the territory of South-East Africa.

  • The Australopithecus

Biological evolution of the genus Homo:

  • Homo Habilis: Homo Habilis used sharp stones to cut the meat and for stems of roots that were part of his habitual diet.

  • Homo Erectus: Is called so by having a straight position, erect when walking, also characterized by being one of the earliest hominids in producing and using fire.

  • Homo de Neanderthal: Were a very social hominid accustomed to hunt in group and to take shelter of the cold in caves.

  • Homo Sapiens: Homo sapiens is responsible for the perfection of the techniques of obtaining food, expanding forms of social organization, religion and cultural manifestations. Over time, Homo sapiens would give rise to human races.
